Sometimes my days run together. Blend from Monday to Tuesday to Wednesday and so on, without any distinction between the days. One of the things about my daily routines is that I pack Oswald a lunch.
We’re trying to watch what we eat, so packing a lunch helps the waistline and the bottom-line.
This morning was no different than any other. I got up with the kids, got them breakfast, and packed Oswald’s lunch. Nothing was special in his lunch, just tuna, crackers, a cheese stick, an orange, some cookies of some sort, and some Crystal Light packs. No biggie.
But as I was making lunch for the kids, my phone rang. It was Oswald.
“Hey Babe. How’s it going?”
“Good.” I had him on speaker phone as I was trying to fix my hair.
“I just wanted to call you and say thank you for making my lunch and to let you know that I’m thinking about you and that I love you.”
I was so surprised by this unexpected show of emotion I didn’t know what to say. “I love you, too, Babe.”
“I just don’t express very well how thankful I am that you take the time to make my lunch every day. I really appreciate it and I just want you to know I love you because I really do.”
In between pulling my hair up into a clip and turning off the curling iron, I fell even more in love with this man.
what a great and thoughtful guy!!! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's always nice to get the unexpected expression of love and appreciation. Makes me love him more too.
ReplyDeleteAwe. You caught a good one that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteSo I'm reading this for the second time, and the first time I read it, I thought? What a random picture of feet? Not until I see it on the computer I realize it is yours and Oswalds. Haha!
ReplyDeleteYou guys are definitely meant for each other!
