I don't know about you, but I am so ready for winter to be over! I am tired of the cold. I am tired of the freezing wind. I am tired of the heater drying my lips, skin, and hair out. I am just plain tired!
I long for the days when I can pack up my kids and go for a walk. Where being outside is refreshing instead of bone-chilling. I live in the South people, it is not supposed to be THIS cold!
This Arizona girl is having a hard time adjusting to these cold days that are not only cold, but gloomy, too. It's hard on my spirits. I am trying to stay optimistic, but it's hard.
I want nothing more than to go dip my toes into the pool. To play for hours at the park. To pack a picnic. To ride bikes and get some good outdoor exercise.
But alas, the weather people are predicting more snow. more snow. what?
So how do you fight the winter blues? What do you do to make life a little easier when outside is so gloomy?
Ditto! Seagoing make a rule that winter can only last a certain # of weeks and that's it. I loved playing in the snow for a minute. But now I am ready for some sunshine and vitamin D! Not to mention I'm a little ghostly looking. :). Maybe we need a vacation somewhere tropical!
ReplyDeleteI too am STRUGGLING with this winter-ness. Although, I live in the snowbelt and it's fully expected!
ReplyDeleteSometimes the best way to overcome it, is to embrace it. Maybe head out to make a snow man, or do some sledding, or a snow fort--and the come in and appreciate warmth and hot cocoa! :)
I can completely relate!! When we lived in Seattle and rained a majority of the time it really started getting to me. I realize that rain is not nearly as bad as snow, but it was still awfully gloomy! For me, I had to force us to get out of the house and have an adventure. Staying inside makes it so much worse!! We would go to the mall and play or find a new place to have an adventure to. It's tough, and can be dangerous with the snow, but you can do it!!
