Busy

This past weekend was a doozy.

I ran from one thing to the next, and hardly had a moment of rest.

But it was all worth it in the end. I got to bond with some of the Young Women in my ward, and also got to be spiritually nurtured by the General YW Presidency as well as the Georgia Atlanta North Mission President and his family.

But let's back up...I'll fill you in on all the details.

Friday 4:30pm--I kiss my kids and husband goodbye. Jump in my car and take off to my friend/Counselor's house.

Friday 4:50pm--I begin getting the pizza ready. Oswald had made the dough the night before, so all I needed to do was roll it out, add toppings, and bake.

Friday 5:30pm--Only one Young Woman had shown up, and I was beginning to get concerned. My friends garage was packed full of stuff for our yard sale. We had our work cut out for us that night.

Friday 6:30pm--5 Young Women (YW) are there and we've eaten, so me being the party pooper, I say, "Alright girls, we have a lot of work to do, so let's get outside and get going."

Friday 9:30pm--We have tables set up, clothes sorted, toys sorted, shoes in lines, ect. We're ready for the yard sale.

Saturday Midnight--My friend and I head up stairs to go to sleep, sending the YW down to the basement to party more or get some sleep, depending on what they choose.

Saturday 2:30AM--I am still not asleep because of the laughter making it's way up three flights of stairs and into my room.  I walk down to the basement, trying to decide what I am going to say. I don't want them to think they have to go to sleep, but I want to go to sleep! I decide to say, "girls you're being really loud. I don't care if you go to sleep or not, but there are 4 kids up there that if you wake them up, there will be serious grumpiness to deal with." and I turned and walked away.

I went to bed and finally fell asleep and honestly, I don't remember another peep out of them the rest of the night.

Saturday 6:30AM--I am woken up by my friend, but I had also gotten up 3 other times that night with my little man. He got in on the slumber party because he is still nursing.

Saturday 7AM--we're moving all of the yard sale stuff out of the garages and into the driveway and yard.

Saturday 9AM--IT IS POURING RAIN...and we're moving all of the stuff back into the garage!

Saturday 11:30AM--we're packing all of the items back into boxes and stuffing them into the unused section of her garage.

I pack up my car and head home for a much needed shower and nap.

Saturday 7:30PM--I grab my homemade oatmeal chocolate chip cookies and leave to go to the Young Women General Broadcast.

Saturday 10PM--I am home for the evening.

Sunday 11:15AM--I am dressed for church, grabbing a lunch as I head out the door, but before I grab the knob, I kiss my kids. My buddy looks at me and says, "Mom, why do you have so many meetings?"

Sunday 4:00PM--church is over, but there's a meeting for the Temple Celebration for the Youth and their parents.

Sunday 5:00PM--I am finished eating dinner and sit down for a few minutes. I look at Oswald and say, "I have to leave again in 5 minutes."

He responds, "Isn't your next meeting at 5:45?"

"Oh my goodness, you're right! I would have been super early!!"

"You would have eaten dinner with that family if you showed up now!"

So I got to sit with my family for 30 minutes!

Sunday 5:30PM--I kiss my kids goodnight and say goodbye to Oswald.

Sunday 5:45PM--I am at a leadership training session with the Bishopric.

Sunday 6:15PM--BYC (Bishop's Youth Council) is meeting. We discuss upcoming activities and we discuss how we can help some of the kids come to church who might not come every Sunday.

Sunday 7:00PM--Fireside with the Georgia Atlanta North Mission President and his family. A wonderful message about missionaries and what we need to do to prepare to be missionaries one day.

Sunday 8:30PM--I am home, in my pajamas, sitting on the couch. I take a deep breath and heave a hugh sigh of relief. "My busy weekend is over"

A busy weekend indeed, but it was worth it! And I would do it all over again to see the faces of the Beehives learning dance moves from a Laurel. I would do it all over again to see the excitement on faces of the youth when we ask if they would like to do a combined activity to go on a tour of the Atlanta Temple before it is dedicated (we're going on the 21st). And I would do it all again to feel the Spirit that was present during the General Young Women Broadcast. Amazing. It was all worth it.
