Two weeks ago, that's right, two weeks, I was packing up boxes, sorting through our stuff, and moving from a rinky-dink apartment into a new-to-us rental house.
The house is lovely. Beautiful colors on the walls, a two car garage (never had one of those before!), a fenced in backyard, and a play room for the kiddos!
With all the loveliness, something was bound to go wrong. And when I say wrong, I mean really wrong. We have had the same internet provider for over a year, they were mostly good. I would say 60% of the time they were good, but we had agreed to a 2 year contract and Oswald had an air card that he used all over the city. So we just stuck with them. We checked their on-line coverage zones and our new place had "good" coverage.
I plugged in the modem and all I got were flashing lights. No signal. No nothing. I called their customer service and got someone in a foreign county I couldn't understand. She PROMISED...promised me that if 1-4 hours the internet would be up and running. 4 hours later, still no internet.
I call back and get another lady in a foreign country, I once again can't understand. (nothing against foreigners...I've just had enough with people who are unintelligible.) She promises me (there's that nasty word again) that in 24 hours the internet will be working. She even made me plug my modem in outside to see if the signal was any better.
You see we used a company who ran off of a 4G network, so being outside the signal might have been better. But it wasn't.
So I called back again, this time some lady told me to just continue checking back and eventually the internet would come back.
Well, two weeks later, I still had no internet. I called an demanded to speak to a Supervisor. Surprisingly, I was transferred to an American who I could understand. He cancelled my service, sent via email packing slips to mail their equipment back to them, plus today when I checked my bank account, there was a $74 deposit from this company!
So, I'm back and have a lot to say. Hopefully, I didn't lose you in the last two weeks. I have blog posts oozing out my ears and pictures, too! Stick around, the best is yet to come!
What a pain in the neck. You are way more patient that I am. After 1 day without internet I would have asked for the superviser.
