I had great hopes of keeping my munchkins learning this summer...but I think they had other plans. I had dreams of them reading and writing and doing math and fun science experiments all while my littlest ones slept.
The first day was great! My Princess happily worked on writing her numbers...
My Buddy worked on his math...and started reading his very first chapter book, Junie B First Grader Dumb Bunny!
They loved doing school and having time with mom...that very first day. But the next day getting them to do anything was like pulling teeth.
The only thing we've stuck with is my Buddy reading. He has to read for 20 minutes each day. I really want him to finish this book before school starts again. I think it just might boost his confidence, plus I don't want him to slip or forget all of the things he has worked so hard to achieve in Kindergarten.
I really need to work with my Princess on her letter sounds. She doesn't really like to learn from me. (she and I are too much alike) But knowing her letter sounds will really help her have a head start in Kindergarten.
Teaching these kinds of things make me feel really out of my element.
I had the same hopes here and so far nothing. At least we have been having fun, right? That's what I keep telling myself. Princess looks just like you in that picture above. What a cutie! And Junie B is a favorite around here too!
